Pale Green Floral Tea Dress, as worn in The Woman in Black, UK10
This beautiful 1930s style tea dress in pale green with floral print from the archive of film costume designer Annie Symons. It was hand made by Annie for actress Phoebe Fox and features prominently in the film The Woman in Black 2.
It is made of satin-backed crepe de chine and has a V-neck with half collar, three flower shaped mother of pearl buttons, and short puffed pleated sleeves. The bust is softly pleated into the corselet shaped waist with a tie back; the skirt flares out slightly with two soft pleats front and back. It fastens up the side with poppers that need to be replaced.
The dress originally arrived with weights sewn into the hem, as it featured in an underwater scene. The weights have been removed. It retains its Costume Department label with the name of the actress, scene and film.
