Vintage Ottoman Tekke Chypre or Chapan in Embroidered Black Silk

An exceptional vintage Turkmen ladies hand loomed raw silk chapan. It is heavily embroidered with a bright pink floral brocade lining.

Detailed design and magnificent embroidery on front and sides and down the sleeves.  

Provenance:  This coat is from the collection of a former lecturer in textiles, who accumulated his treasured pieces during extensive travels in the middle and Far East in the late 1960s - early 1970s.  Unfortunately the paper records have been lost, so no more information is now available.
