A beautifully tailored vintage double breasted coat in black velvet, embroidered with red roses, by Simpson of Piccadilly, 1980s. An inner label reads Cojana, Made in England; a now defunct company founded in the mid 1960s that made coats and other garments for Simpson, and also Harrods and possibly Chanel, according to a Vintage Fashion Guild forum.
The coat is classic in style, with wide notched lapels, two rows of buttons, and flapped slanting pockets. It has a lovely buttoned half-belt at the back of the waist, double buttons at the sleeves, and is fully lined with inner tie belt.
