Bill Gibb Vintage Skirt Suit in Cream Wool Crepe with Embroidery, UK10-12
Bill Gibb Vintage Skirt Suit in Cream Wool Crepe with Embroidery, UK10-12
A very special 1970s vintage 2 piece skirt suit by Bill Gibb, in cream wool crepe with gold overstitching.
This suit is typical of Bill Gibb's romantic style, and dates from 1973. The skirt is knee length, bias cut with overstitched flared panels. Side zip, fully lined.
The jacket is collarless with deep crossover V front, gathered below the bust into a straight double breasted silhouette with two sets of buttons. Leg of mutton sleeves with five matching looped buttons. These incredibly lovely and delicate buttons are enamel and decorated with Bill Gibb's trademark bee, in pink, white, black and gold.
There is a beautiful embroidered flower on right front, snaking down from the shoulder, in shades of purple, mauve and pale blue. Fully lined in ivory silk.
