An exquisite vintage peasant blouse, thought to have been bought at Liberty in the 1970s.
Made of finest ivory silk georgette, with a panel of delicate hand painted watercolour iris motif at the front and back, and inset on the sleeve, the blouse has a round neck with V opening edged in satin ribbon, with a ribbon tie and wide frill collar. It has batwing sleeves with bands of overstitched ribbons in ivory and mossy green, gathered with a frill at the cuff. The blouse is gathered by shirring stitch above the waist, and ends at the waist with an ivory ribbon edge.
