A wonderfully romantic hand-made vintage lace wedding dress from the archive of film costume designer Annie Symons, in fact designed by Annie for her own wedding in 1997 and therefore one of a kind.
The delicate, ethereal dress is made from a beautiful embroidered lace with sprig and ribbon motif, over layers of palest blue chiffon and ivory satin. The bodice is a boned corset of ruched lace, with a scalloped lace edge standing above; fully lined in white satin, and fastening up the back with tiny invisible hooks and eyes. The shoulders are bare and there are armlet sleeves of transparent lace, starting level with the top of the bodice and embellished at the wrist with tiny diamantés.
The skirt has an interior fitted waist and is elegantly flared, sitting close on the hips and ending with a scalloped edge just above the ankle at the front, and a discreet train at the back.
