A wonderful full long skirt in cream seersucker with blue grey stripe, from cult label Universal Utility. Designed by slow fashion guru Carin Mansfield, these clothes are always carefully crafted, combining style and comfort. Previously selling with Egg, Dover street market London & Tokyo and multiple Comme des Garçons stores in Japan, Carin wanted the Made in England label to be appreciated in London, and now sells from a tiny but beautiful shop in our local Warren Street, whose motto, written on the wall outside, is “Invisible permanent clothing, made in England”.
The skirt is cut on the bias, and flares out from a wide waist panel to just above the ankle. Inside it is gathered onto the lining in a deep hem, giving a gorgeous voluminous yet slimming shape. Fully lined. Fastens at the side with pretty looped buttons.
