A very special 1970s vintage smock top by Bernat Klein, in gloriously soft open weave caramel boucle mohair.
Bernat Klein (6 November 1922 – 17 April 2014) was a Serbian textile designer and painter. From his workshop in Scotland he produced fabrics for major haute couture houses including Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Pierre Cardin and Saint Laurent, before launching his own label.
This garment is a loose fitting tunic or smock top, with long sleeves, collared V neck and slits at the side.
