A wonderfully romantic vintage 2-piece ensemble from British Boutique designer Catherine Buckley's Fragile collection, c.1976. Around this time she salvaged a job lot of fabric samples from an abandoned 19thC factory and made a series of unique patchwork garments from these exquisite materials, which encapsulated the glamorous bohemian look and romanticism of the era.
Here we have a fabulous floor length skirt with gathered tiers, in a patchwork of jacquard and lace fabrics, in pale hues of ivory with the odd patch of pale pink, blue and green.
The top has an Edwardian-style square neck and angelic flouncy short sleeves, all made of exquisite woven lace with floral motif.
