Catherine Buckley Antique Lace Patchwork Coat, UK10-12

Regular price £450.00 Sale

A fabulous and truly unique c.1970 vintage coat by Catherine Buckley, from her Fragile collection, in a patchwork of multicoloured and textured Edwardian lace made between 1905-1935.

In the late 1960s British Boutique designer Catherine Buckley salvaged a job lot of fabric samples from an abandoned textile factory and made a series of unique patchwork garments from these exquisite materials, which encapsulated the glamorous bohemian look and romanticism of the era.

This piece is a wonderful maxi coat from around 1970 or earlier, made up of a patchwork of jacquard and lace fabrics, in pale hues of ivory with the odd patch of pale pink, blue and green, and bright pink and orange lace.

The coat has an Edwardian-style high neck with cream faille ruffle, and is fitted at the bodice, flaring out to the ankle. Lace covered buttons looping down the front.  Long sleeves with ruffle cuffs.
