An adorable shift dress by Anna Sui in a shimmering ribbed silk velvet the colour of a complicated ripe bruise.
It is sleeveless with a round neck and bodice that gathers below the bust with ties. The dress is cut on the bias and hangs straight from the empire line to knee length. The fabric, as always with this designer, is exquisitely fine and soft, a background of magenta silk with diagonal rib of black, red and gold which shimmer as they catch the light.
